Wan Jamila

Wan Jamila Wan Shaiful Bahri, professionally known as ‘Artjamila’, stands as an award-winning autistic savant artist whose impact transcends boundaries, inspiring countless individuals through her artistry. Since her early childhood, art has been Jamila’s medium for expressing emotions and experiences, crafting a personalised unique style that blends doodling and naive art using mixed media on canvas. This style has evolved alongside her, enabling her to address contemporary issues as she matured. Her creations serve as visual narratives of historical events such as the Covid-19 pandemic, sustainability and diversity, reflecting her profound insights and unique perspective. Notably, her distinctive style earned her a place in the esteemed Museum Art Book titled “Art from Leonardo da Vinci to Today,” published by MAMAG Modern Art Museum Europe in 2022, alongside renowned figures like Leonardo da Vinci, Vincent Van Gogh, and Claude Monet. In 2020, the ViaTalenta Foundation in Switzerland recognized her as an Impact Artist for her contributions to combating climate change, while Agence France-Presse in Paris lauded her inclusion in the World Generation Z for her creative activism against global viruses. Despite her youth, at the age of 18, her achievements were cemented in Britishpedia 2020, and in 2021, she was honoured as a Gen.T Honouree, titled “Asian Leader of Tomorrow” by Tatler Asia. The culmination of her recognition came in 2023 when she received the esteemed “Asia Young Icon Award (Artist)” and the prestigious “International Prize Michelangelo-The Genius of Italy” at the Teatro Italia in Rome, Italy, solidifying her status among the top artists of her generation.
